Muscadet Madness

Join us for a afternoon of Muscadet appreciation with winemaker, Frederic Niger of Domaine de L'Ecu.  This iconic domaine from the Loire Valley was founded in the 1970s by Guy Bossard, an early champion for organic and biodynamic farming and one of the first in Muscadet to bottle single-terroir wines.  His careful attention to his wines both in the vineyard and in the cellar has inspired many to reconsider conventional farming methods, elevating the perception and quality of Muscadet as a whole.

Like Bossard, Frederic, the current winemaker at Domaine d l'Ecu,  is dedicated to an uncompromising approach to farming and cellar practices, creating wines marked by incredible definition, depth, and intensity.  He pushes the boundaries of tradition and expands the range of quality wines made from this underappreciated region.
We are excited to present his newest inspiration, a line of Vin de France bottlings, made from both white and red varietals aged in Amphora (clay vessels) or a mix of amphora and French oak barrels.

This tasting will demonstrate that the wines from Muscadet can be more than just simple white wines for oysters, and to prove it, we will be pairing several of the wines with small bites prepared by the Soif kitchen.  The wines of Domaine de l'Ecu are savory, complex and definitely deserve a place at your table.
