Mexican Food and Wine Pairing with Stirm Wines!

stirm wines (1).jpg

Come celebrate Cinco de Mayo at Soif! Saturday, May 5th, we will be pairing several small plates of Mexican dishes (TBD) with the following Stirm Wine Co. wines:

2016 Stirm Kick-On Riesling

2016 Stirm Wirz Vineyard Riesling

2016 Stirm Santa Cruz Mountain Vineyard Pinot Noir

2016 Stirm Cienega Valley Old Vine Zinfandel

Local winemaker Ryan Stirm (pictured below) of Stirm Wine Co. will be here to talk about his wine making process and recent releases. Recently named a "winemaker to watch" by the San Francisco Chronicle, Ryan focuses on making wines that are suitable for Califonia's climate. His practices, often low-intervention (the Wirz, Glenwood, and Kick-On Vineyards are all dry-farmed) and unconventional (he fermented all of his red wines from this past vintage in redwood barrels), have resulted in wines that are both reflective of their origin and expressive of their terroir.

The event will take place at 1pm on Saturday, May 5th, in the restaurant section of Soif. The cost of the tasting is $35 for general admission, and $15 for Soif Wine Club Members. The cost of admission includes both the food and the wine pairing**. Tickets may be purchased below, or in our wine shop.

**The food pairing is non-vegetarian. If you are vegetarian and would like to enjoy the wine without the food pairing, please contact us directly for further information on tickets.
